Shunila Ruth met slain minor girl's family

Shunila Ruth-MPA, The Executive Director of Talitha Kumi Center visited and condoled with the family of a 12 years old Christian girl, Taniya, brutally murdered three week ago at Chak Mandaahar in Sialkot Cantt.

The Taniya’s family said that her brother Johnson Gill had dropped her to Convent of Jesus and Mary School, Sialkot Cantt in that morning and after a few hours, the Sambrial police informed family that their daughter committed suicide by jumping in the canal.

Retreating from its earlier claim that the girl committed suicide, the police finally registered a murder case.

The police registered the murder case following the mounted pressure by the local protesting Christian community in this regard. The grieved family submitted a petition in the court for the exhumation of the grave to find out a clue about her mysterious murder. [if !supportLineBreakNewLine] [endif]

Taniya’s family told Shunila Ruth that the police still remain unable to find out any clue to resolve the mystery. They are convinced that their daughter was murdered by some unknown persons while the police said that she committed suicide. Family urged the police to bring the management of Convent of Jesus and Mary Sialkot Cantt under investigation. They also alleged that the police were adopting delaying tactics in providing justice. Shunila assured her full support in every front to bring culprit to justice.

Earlier, Shunila Ruth being the Member of Provincial Assembly of Punjab moved the Call Attention Notice in the assembly to draw attention of Human Right & Minority Affair ministry.

Shunila Ruth had also met with the police to resolve the blind case at the earliest and bring the culprits to task. The District Police Officer assured that the police will leave ‘no stone unturn’ in search of Taniya’s murderer.
