Shunila Ruth urges EU to support efforts to prevent and end violence against women and minorities in

Shunila Ruth, co-founder and Director of Talitha KUMI was part of the delegation invited by The Christian Union, a Christian democratic political party in the Netherlands to visit European Union & Dutch Parliaments and discuss the prevailing situation of religious minorities in Pakistan.
The delegation had meeting with EU parliamentarians led by Mr. Peter van Dalen (Christian Union-SGP) in Brussels on 26th September 2017.
The deplorable condition of minorities in Pakistan was discussed. Shunila Ruth said, “Minority women are doubly oppressed, once for being female and once for being minority members”. She emphasized on an urgent need for policy responses and effective legislative measures to check the multiple discrimination against minorities. She urged EU to support efforts to prevent and end violence against women and minorities in Pakistan.

EU parliamentarian affirmed their commitment to enhance cooperation to support and protect religious minorities in Pakistan.
