Empowering Midwives to Empower Women

Talitha KUMI's 30th batch of midwives stepped into the real world on 14 December 2019 in a graduation ceremony held in NCCP, Lahore. These women are part of Talitha KUMI's midwifery programme initiated in year 2001 to economically empower young girls. They have completed their prescribed one and half year course of training.
Shunila Ruth, the chief guest on the occasion, while extending her personal congratulations to the graduating class also praised the parents and teachers for their contribution in the graduates’ achievements and for building their character and skill.
Midwifery Training is part of Talitha Kumi's Economic empowerment Program and it is a vital part of program activities of Talitha Kumi Welfare Society. We believe that the economic empowerment is the key to control conflicts between male and female. Once women learn to earn, control and manage their money they will be more confident and empowered. They will be less vulnerable of being exploited.
Economic empowerment program was initiated so that women can learn different skills enabling them to become economically independent.
